Delhi Court grants interim bail to MP Engineer Rashid in a terror funding case, allowing him to campaign for the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

On September 10, the Delhi Court granted interim bail to Member of Parliament Engineer Rashid until October 2 in a terror funding case. Rashid, who won the 2024 Lok Sabha elections by defeating former J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in Baramulla, sought bail to campaign for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections.

Bail Conditions and Previous Custody

The Delhi Court approved bail on a personal bond of ₹2 lakh with one surety. Rashid is required to surrender by October 3, with conditions that he does not influence witnesses or interfere with the ongoing investigation.In July 2024, Rashid was granted custody parole to take his oath as an MP. He has been held in Tihar Jail since his 2019 arrest under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in connection with the 2017 terror funding case.

Terror Funding Case Details
