Legislation on Airline Bomb Threats Underway

Civil Aviation Minister K Rammohan Naidu said the government is preparing legislative actions to address airline bomb threats. This includes placing those responsible for bomb threats to airlines on a no-fly list. He emphasized that passenger safety and security are the top priorities.

Amendments to Aviation Security Rules

The minister announced upcoming amendments to aviation security rules and the Suppression of Unlawful Acts Against Safety of Civil Aviation Act, 1982, in response to the rising cases of airline-bomb threats. In the past week alone, nearly 100 Indian flights have been targeted.

Collaboration with the Ministry of Home Affairs

The Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is in constant touch with the Ministry of Home Affairs to investigate these bomb threats. While investigations are ongoing, Naidu did not comment on potential conspiracies behind the threats.
