Yellow Alert for Chennai and Suburbs
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has extended a yellow alert for Chennai and its suburbs, predicting heavy to very heavy rainfall until Friday. The low-pressure system in the Indian Ocean intensified into a well-marked low-pressure area on Sunday and is expected to develop into a depression over the Bay of Bengal by Monday.
