Final Report: The less you try to define Q8, the more understanding.

There is no stranger for Audi odd naming decisions. It replaced its engine displacement badge with an arbitrary ‘performance’ number; ‘E-tron’ (different from its meaning in French) was first a model, then a suffix, and now a sub-brand; And do you know that its CNG cars G-Tron are bad? Recently, in 2023, the brand took a bold decision to provide odd numbers to all its ice model names and even all EVS, replacing decades of heritage on its head. It was so misleading for customers that the brand was rebuilt in 2025 and returned to the number of cars depending on their size. But before this double U-turn, a model never sits right on a scale, and this is Q8.

The 8 is the largest number in the Audi model range, but Q8 is not the largest SUV. It is also a relationship regarding A8, but Q8 is nowhere to have that kind of chopper-managed experience. The most confusion is the most confusion, it shares its name with Q8 e-trrona, an EV that is very small. Some people argue that it earns its 8 because it is a sporty, stylish coupe-SUV that is posted above the Q7-but then, its name will include ‘sportsback’ in its name, which does not.

After spending some time with our long-term Q8, I have realized that it is best not to think too much about someone because it is separated from the fact that it is an honest-to-the-old great luxury SUV. For one-and is going back to that ‘sportback’ point-although it looks slightly smooth than the largest 5-seat SUV, it is no place or practicality for design. You must have noticed that Santa Sergius loads it with Christmas gift (Autocar India, January 2025), and I too, manage a couple of airports in its time with Q8. The boot can catch too much more than its 605-liter rating or on the roof of the needle you will believe, and the back seat is wide and huge. I once complemented the passengers, and they were really surprised that they were not making contact with each other.

Q8 is part of the outgoing generation of Big Audis, and will accompany a separate interior layout with the current Q7 a decade ago. It is not without its flaws, such as the dashboard and center console is made entirely of gloss-black plastic and screen, which every time I open the windows for a while, attract a layer of dust. But after this, it successfully modernized the Audi interior that looked classy and expensive, and it is still true today, and more now we have seen what is coming next. It is a similar story with digital dials, although simple, incredibly clear and easy to read on this step.

It is a big car, for better or worse. I like to Lord’s Lord’s on the way to work every day, but navigate small roads in my neighborhood and parking in my small driveway is tedious, at least to say. At my specific creeping speed, it is not surprising that the 2.1-ton SUV with Turbo-Petrol V6 is not efficient, but is 5.4KPL less than any measure. And when Sergius enjoys the quality of the ride on its highway drive to Goa in the city, the suspension firm (and steering heavy) seems to be there; Air suspension is a feature that they should not delete.

Then there is Sakhir Gold: A color that does not get a little from sleeping, but there is no less attractive for it (another misleading Audi naming option, I think). I like the paint shade very much and I am glad that they offer it between the specific, blacks and silver of German luxury cars. You can now get it on Q7 too, and it never fails to comment from anyone who steps into SUV. In fact, in my experience, whoever experiences Q8 has only good things to say about it. It is only among us who are trying to wrap our head around our position that never found. With facelift and price modification, it is now better against the choice of BMW X5 and Mercedes GLE, and in my opinion, it looks better than one of them.

By the time you read it, it is left and replaced by a Q7, and for many people in the team, it will be an upgrade. For one, it has got even more space and, significantly, small wheels and air suspensions, which should allow it to ride better. But its color? Samurai gray. Odour!
