Baba Siddique Shot dead in Bandra
Baba Siddique, a former Maharashtra minister and member of the Ajit Pawar faction of the NCP, was fatally shot near his son Zeeshan’s office in Bandra on Saturday night. The shooters fired six bullets around 9:30 pm, with four striking Siddique and one hitting his aide. The incident occurred during Dussehra, months before the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections.
Arrests and Investigation
Two suspects have been arrested—one from Uttar Pradesh and one from Haryana—while another remains at large. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde called the incident “extremely unfortunate” and assured strict action. He emphasized that no gang-war-like situation should be allowed to resurface in Mumbai.
