Kerala Government Suspends IAS Officers

Controversial WhatsApp Group
K Gopalakrishnan, a 2013-batch IAS officer and director of Industries and Commerce, has been suspended for creating a religion-based WhatsApp group titled “Mallu Hindu Officers.” The group stirred controversy, and Gopalakrishnan claimed his phone was hacked. However, forensic analysis revealed no evidence of hacking and showed that the phone had been formatted amid the allegations. Thiruvananthapuram City Police Commissioner Sparjan Kumar stated that due to the phone’s reset, determining if it was compromised remains uncertain.
Chief Minister’s Action
The Chief Minister, Pinarayi Vijayan, took decisive action based on the disciplinary report.
