Oscar Piastry won its fourth win of the 2025 F1 season in Miami GP to further enhance their championship lead. This makes him the first McLaren Driver to win three consecutive F1 races in over 25 years (after Spain 1997, Australia 1998 and Brazil 1998 after Mika Hakikin’s hat -trick).
Noris finished second, clarified McLaren in an area of over 1-2, more than 30 seconds. MercedesGeorge Russell completed the podium in third place.
- Piastry Win, 4.630 seconds ahead of Noris
- Albon P5 for Williams
- Ferrari’s Lakeler P7, Hamilton P8
McLaren Miami dominates GP
Polyster Max Vestapen initially conducted a lead by closing the door on Noris, which ran widening and fell from P2 to P6. But Piastry was gaining land rapidly. He passed Mercedes Km Antoneley to another location immediately after the virtual safety car (VSC) ended at Lap 4.
By this time, Noris had already caught Verustapane and both had dropped it out on a handful of laps. At one point, Noris found the way to the past, but it got away from the track and had to place Verustapane back. McLaren Driver finally made a trick stick on Lap 18, but from this point, he was already about 9 seconds behind his team partner Piastry.
Due to never being physical with the danger of rain, McLaren took full advantage of running in clean air to make a big lead. “Clearly the car was incredible today and we were able to use the advantage of that speed. It is down to everyone and is putting the entire team in an incredible amount of hard work in the factory, where we are now,” said Piastry, “Piastry said, who won before 4.630 seconds from Noris.
“As usual, there is a lot of learning to take away from weekend, but I am very happy, very happy leaving Miami on top,”
Verstappen P4 slips
Unlike other pioneers starting on mediums, Russell began the race on the hards and as a result, was able to expand his first term. Gamble worked in his favor when Oliver Bearman took the track out of the track at 29, once again brought VSC out.
Russell benefited from pitting under VSC and re -incorporated the track next to Vastapane, which had to compromise for P4. Vastapane reflected on his race, “It ended as a conflict.” “I tried to fight a fight, but in the end, it was impossible to put them (McLaren) behind. We became a bit inauspicious with VSC, but of course it is part of racing and the overall speed was not really.”
Alex Albon created an impressive fifth place for Williams. Meanwhile, Antoneley’s slow pitstop dropped her to sixth place.
Ferrari struggle continues
FerrariCharles Lakeler and Lewis Hamilton ended the P7 and P8 respectively after being involved in the debate of a stressful team’s orders. Hamilton, who was running on mediums compared to Lakeler on Hards, suggested that they should be given since fast. Ferrari took several laps to call, to promote Hamilton “when you keep a teak brake on it!”
Ferrari finally ordered two to swap. But Hamilton could not get very close to Antoneley and Lakeler had to give back. Hamilton survived the late race scrap with Williams’ Carlos Sainz to finish the P8, while Yuki Tsunoda dropped out of the top 10.
2025 F1 Championship Standing
Piastry’s championship lead is now 16 points from his team partner Noris. Vastapane is in third place, there are 16 points behind Noris. For standing of constructors, McLaren now takes advantage of 105 points on Mercedes in second place.
The F1 will now go to Emola for Emilia Romagna GP on 16-18 May.
