Former India opener Virender Sehwag has hit out at Pakistan duo of Wahaj Riaz and Mohammad Amir. Wahaj, who called time on his international cricketing career last year, is currently the chief selector of Pakistan's national men's selection committee. He was appointed to the position in November. A few months after Riaz took over the new role, Amir, who had also retired from international cricket, made a comeback to the national team. Highlighting the developments, Sehwag questioned Riaz's motives as the head of the selection committee.

Sehwag said, “Wahaj Riaz and Mohammad Aamir are two names who used to give their opinion against their national team on Pakistan TV news channels. Now one of them is a selector and the other is in the playing eleven. They used to criticize the team at one time and now that they have come to power, what are they doing?” Cricbuzz during a discussion.

Sehwag pointed fingers at Wahab and said, “Aamir has played with me, so he should be included in the team.” The former Indian opener said, “This cannot be done.”

He said, “Now that Ajit Agarkar is the chairman of selectors of BCCI, he will say 'Viru come, I will help you come back in the team'. This does not happen. You have to look at the future. You have become a selector, you have a job. Use it properly, don't favour anyone.”

The Pakistan cricket team has come under a lot of criticism after its early exit from the ongoing T20 World Cup. The team suffered a disappointing defeat to the United States apart from failing to chase down a target of 120 runs against India in the first round. All these have collectively brought the entire team under question.

There are rumours that the captain and players of the Pakistan cricket team might be changed after the defending champions' poor performance in the T20 mega event.
