New Delhi: Top officials of the Union Health Ministry and the National Board of Medical Examination on Monday reviewed the process of the NEET-PG exam. The entrance exam to postgraduate medical courses was postponed just two days ago. The National Eligibility Entrance Test (Postgraduate) entrance exam is conducted by the National Board of Medical Examinations (NBEMS) in collaboration with its technical partner Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for medical students.

According to sources, senior officials of TCS were present in the meeting.

The government on Saturday postponed the NEET-PG entrance exam scheduled to be held on June 23 as a precautionary measure in the wake of recent allegations on the sanctity of some competitive exams.

Sources said Monday's meeting was held to check the “robustness” of the system for conducting the examination in the coming days.

It was told that in the meeting, top officials of TCS gave information about various aspects of the examination process.

“The process of uploading question papers for NEET-PG exam starts one hour before the exam. This time it was postponed as a preventive measure to conduct the exam in a transparent and secure manner. New dates will be announced soon depending on the availability of centres,” the source said.

“In view of the recent developments in the allegations regarding the sanctity of some competitive examinations, the Ministry of Health has decided to undertake a thorough evaluation of the robustness of the processes of the NEET-PG entrance examination conducted by the National Board of Examinations for medical students,” the ministry had said on Saturday.

It said, “Accordingly, as a precautionary measure, it has been decided to postpone the NEET-PG Entrance Examination scheduled to be held tomorrow i.e. June 23, 2024.”
