We find out whether the Exterited Hy-Cing pair can distribute 27.1 km/kg of ARAI-cleaned fuel economy.
Like Tata punch ICNG, even Hyundai Exter This sub-compact SUV is introduced with a twin narrow natural gas (CNG) tank setup. Through our test, we placed the Hyundai External Hy-CG pair to find out if it can provide its claimed efficiency of 27.1 km/kg in the real world.

The Real World Range is very close to its claimed figures
The Hyundai Exteric Hy-Cing pair is powered by a 4-cylinder 1197cc engine that produces 69hp and 95Nm torque while walking on CNG. Like the punch ICNG, it is ready for a five-speed manual transmission. In our actual world trials, the External Hy-Cing Duo claims 22.8 km/kg in the city and 30.3 km/km on the highway, average at an average of 26.6 km/kg, the efficiency of 27.1 km/kg.
Exterited small gearing with sufficient low-end torque and smooth engine requires low gearshifts while staying in traffic, which improves its city fuel efficiency. However, on the highway, the Exterited Hy-Cing Duo’s engine rotates at a high 3300rpm hovering in the fifth gear at a high 3300rpm, which disrupts its highway fuel efficiency.
Autocar India’s fuel efficiency test
CNG tanks are difficult to fill, and there are many variables, especially ambient temperature and pump pressure. Therefore, we did not choose the option of our standard tank-to-tank functioning. For our real -world testing, we emptied their CNG tank and filled each of them with 2 kg of CNG. Then, we drove them inside the urban until they ran out of the gas. We reiterated the process for highway testing. During the drive, these cars were operated only in CNG mode.
Tire pressure was maintained based on the recommendation of the manufacturer. These cars were operated on and on the fixed city and highway loops in and around Navi Mumbai, maintaining some average speed. During the trials, there was only one person in the car, who drove the aircraft and other electricals, such as audio systems, indicators and wipers, when necessary – like a regular user. The periodic driver swap drivers neutralizes more variation in the driver pattern. We are proud of our test data, which is not only consistent, but also gives users an accurate indication of what they can expect in the real world.
