“I am not worried about being typecast,” says Sara Khan

Mumbai:

Actress Sara Khan said she doesn’t think people anymore judge actors only by their screen roles and added that she isn’t worried about being “typecast”.

Sara, who is currently playing the role of Goddess Krithika, said: “I don’t think people judge actors based only on their screen roles anymore. Social media is so prevalent now that people can get to know about actors through their profiles and see who they really are beyond their characters.”

“So, I am not worried about being typecast because it helps people understand us better and opens up more diverse career opportunities.”

The actress said that this was many years ago, when actors were worried about being typecast.

“But that’s not as much of a concern anymore. Social media gives audiences and producers a chance to see actors’ talents beyond their roles, giving us a chance to showcase other skills and change any prejudices based on past roles,” he said.

Sara plays the role of Goddess Kritikayen in ‘Chhathi Maiya Ki Bitiya’, which airs on Sun Neo.

Talking about the reason behind saying yes to the show, Sara said: “Whenever I play a character, I make sure to assess how important that character is. While playing a role, it is always important for an actor to see what exposure it will give him.”

“So, when I saw that this character has a lot of potential in the show, with different avatars and different shades, I loved it.”

Talking about the actress, Sara made her acting debut in 2007 with the show “Sapna Babul Ka…Bidaai”. She was then seen in the show “Preet Se Bandhi Ye Dori Ram Milai Jodi”, where she replaced Priyal Gor.

She was then seen in “Junoon-Aisi Nafrat Toh Kaisa Ishq” in 2013. After which she starred in shows like “Sasural Simar Ka,” “V The Serial,” “Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya,” “Encounter,” “Tujhse Hai Raabta,” “Bhagyalakshmi,” “Saubhagyalakshmi,” and “Jaana Na Dil Se Door.”
