“Mukeem Khan conned over 50 women, including a judge, through fake marriage promises. Learn how this elaborate marriage fraud was exposed by the Delhi Police.”
Mukeem Khan, a 38-year-old resident of Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, has been arrested by the Delhi Police Crime Branch for an elaborate marriage fraud scheme that victimized over 50 women across the country, including a judge. Khan manipulated women on matrimonial websites by creating fake profiles and pretending to seek marriage.
The Elaborate Marriage Fraud Scheme
Khan created multiple accounts on various matrimonial platforms, using false identities to lure his victims. His targets were primarily Muslim women—unmarried, widowed, or divorced—whom he approached with promises of marriage. In one shocking case, even a woman judge was deceived by his marriage fraud tactics.
How Khan Executed the Fraud
Khan portrayed himself as a grieving widower who couldn’t take care of his daughter after his wife’s death. He used these fabricated stories to gain the trust of his victims. To further solidify his deception, he would meet the women’s families and even set wedding dates. Once trust was fully established, Khan would ask for money under the pretense of booking marriage halls or covering wedding expenses. After receiving the money, he would disappear, leaving his victims with emotional and financial loss.
Arrest and Consequences
After numerous complaints, the Delhi Police Crime Branch managed to track down Khan, exposing his long-running marriage fraud scheme. Khan, who is actually married with three children, had been using photos of his real family to convince victims of his false identity.
