Naomi Osaka was knocked out of Wimbledon in the second round on Wednesday by American Emma Navarro, who gave the Japanese superstar just five games in a one-sided contest. Osaka, playing her first Wimbledon since 2019, lost 6-4, 6-1 in less than an hour on Centre Court. The two players were tied 3-3 in the first set but 17th-ranked Navarro got a break and took the first set.

Navarro took the lead early in the second set, breaking serve twice to take a 4-0 lead and then broke serve again to seal the match.

Osaka's win over Diane Perry in the first round was her first at Wimbledon since 2018.

Five years later, the 26-year-old four-time Grand Slam champion is ranked 113th, having only returned to the Tour in January after giving birth to daughter Shai last year.
