Genesis has unveiled the X Gran Equator Concept at the New York Auto Show 2025. The rugged concept car has previewed a major origin SUV. Origin X Gran Equator Concept External Design
The ratio resembles the rugged estate more than the traditional SUV
The X Gran Equator concept shows the latest development of the concept of origin “athletic elegance” designs with the latest development of language, but with emphasis on rudeness and off-roading. By that end, the X Gran equator concept has a long hood, short front overhang, and a narrow windshield, which makes for a profile that deviates from the traditional SUV and instead picks up estate cars like Audi A6 alarode and Volvo V90 Cross Country,
Genesis’ hallmark ‘to-line’ parallel LED lights can be seen and back in front of the X Gran Equator Concept, even expanding in Fenders, as well as silver roof on top. The front bumper also gets four x-shaped fog lights and a clear silver lips. In the side, X Gran Equator Concept Sports more silver cladding and 24-inch five-spoke beellock wheels in all-round tires, and in the rear, is a split tailgate that opens into two horizontal segments.
Genesis X Gran Equator Concept Interior & Features
No infotainment screen
Unlike futuristic exterior instead of X Gran Equator Concept, the cabin is styled with a retro esthetic that focuses on physical controls and aims to keep the driver focused on the road. The dashboard avoids incorporating an infotainment touchscreen, and instead facilitates four circular digital displays that resemble analog dial. They show information such as navigation and wheel travel, as well as an inclinometer.
A two-spoke steering wheel sits right in front of the driver, with a pile of button on it, and behind it is a small three-gauge digital cluster showing the car speed, range and time. The stalks behind the steering wheel are also much more charans than normal, and the center console has handles grabbing on both sides and rowed with physical tole switches for various vehicle functions.
A long grab handle can also be seen on the passenger side of the dash, and there is a modular storage area below it. The front seats can be rotated around, and on the roof, there are four small glass sections instead of a full sunroof.

According to origin, the X Gran Equator concept is built on an offshoot of the stage Kia Ev9While the concept shown is all-electrical, the plan of origin is planned to support a series of powertrain in the production-spec SUV, including hybrid and range-exender options. While the X Gran equator is a concept from strictly, the origin design major Luke Donkarvolke told our sister Prakashan, Autocar UKThat a production-spec version can be developed within three years, potentially indicated at the launch of 2028–2029. with Genesis is scheduled to enter India in the latter half of 2025It remains to be seen whether the production-spec X Gran equator can make it here.
