Pooja, Samajwadi Party MLA from Chail, Kaushambi, finally witnessed justice as a special CBI court handed life imprisonment to six accused in the murder of her husband, Raju Pal. The court also sentenced another accused to four years in jail. “Truth can never be defeated,” Pal said.

Pooja Pal’s fight began after her husband, former Bahujan Samaj Party MLA Raju Pal, was murdered in 2005 in broad daylight. Despite numerous challenges and threats, she persisted in her battle, symbolizing the struggle of Prayagraj’s oppressed communities against the influence of Atiq Ahmad and his associates.

Following her husband’s death, Pal contested and lost the 2005 bypolls but won the Allahabad West assembly seat in 2007 and 2012. In 2022, she joined the Samajwadi Party and won from Kaushambi’s Chail seat. Her journey has been marked by determination and a dedication to justice for her constituency.
