Political parties, Bollywood actors and other high profile personalities have also expressed shock over the crime and demanded stringent punishment for the culprits.
“Dark behaviour against women must be punished harshly and swiftly,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in his address to the nation on the 78th Independence Day on Thursday.
