The upcoming season of the Duleep Trophy is going to be a big one as many big names from India’s senior men’s team will be playing in this domestic league. Recently, the 26-year-old batsman opened up on his being overlooked and said that his poor performance in domestic cricket was the main reason for it.

“Nothing…I did not perform well (in the domestic season). I did not play many matches in Ranji Trophy…I played 2-3 matches. I was not selected because I did not play well. I might be selected for the next round of matches,” Rinku told IANS. SportsTack,

In first-class cricket, Rinku has played 47 matches and scored 3173 runs at a strike rate of 71.59. He has also scored seven centuries and 20 half-centuries.

Duleep Trophy 2024 will feature international stars like Shubman Gill. Yashasvi JaiswalLeading all-rounder ravindra jadeja, Axar Patelwrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav and fast bowler mohammed siraj,

T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav, who played a Test against Australia in 2023, has also been selected in the squad. Apart from Surya, other players have confirmed their place in the team.

The Indian players had to play only one match and hence Kohli, Rohit, Bumrah and Ashwin were exempted.

India are scheduled to play two Test matches against Bangladesh – in Chennai from September 19 and in Kanpur from September 27.
