Sanjeev Sanyal becomes Chancellor of Gokhale Institute
Sanjeev Sanyal, a key member of the Economic Advisory Council to the Prime Minister (EAC-PM), has officially accepted the role of Chancellor of Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune. This comes 10 days after Bibek Debroy stepped down from the post following a legal ruling involving Vice-Chancellor Ajit Ranade.
New Leadership for GIPE
Sanyal expressed enthusiasm for working with the GIPE community, stating that his role would focus on providing broad direction and governance rather than daily operations. He clarified that this new responsibility would not interfere with his current duties on the Prime Minister’s Economic Advisory Council.
