New Delhi:

Salman Khan and Bhagyashree’s 1989 film Maine Pyar Kiya is all set to re-release in theatres on its 35th anniversary on August 23. Ahead of the iconic film’s theatrical release, Bhagyashree told News18 that she is ‘extremely thrilled’ about how the film will impact today’s generation. “It’s incredible to think that a whole new generation will experience the magic of Maine Pyar Kiya onscreen! It’s a timeless love story and connecting it with today’s young hearts is like seeing the film come alive again. I’m looking forward to seeing how Gen-Z connects with the pure, simple romance we have portrayed,” she said.

Recalling the buzz around the film after its release, she said, “It was a life-changing film for me in every sense of the word. Personally, it made me a household name and professionally, it opened doors for me that I had never imagined. But more than that, the film gave me an emotional connect with the audience that still lasts. It’s rare for an actor to have that and I feel truly blessed.”

He further added, “I think some stories are timeless and I Loved You is one of them. However, there is some sanctity in the original story as well. It represents an era and a kind of love story that is unique to that time. Though it would be exciting to see what the modern version would look like, I personally feel that the magic of the original story should remain intact. It is best to let some classics remain as they are.”

Maine Pyar Kiya was Bhagyashree’s Bollywood debut film.
