South African legend Dale Steyn surprises everyone by picking 4 T20 World Cup semi-finalists

South Africa's legendary cricketer Dale Steyn surprised everyone by naming his four semi-finalists for the T20 World Cup 2024. Steyn, who is a huge fan of the game and is a personality who does not shy away from expressing his opinion. With the Super 8 stage already in action, the T20 World Cup to be held in USA and West Indies has entered an interesting phase. In a video shared on Instagram, the South Africa pacer left out the England cricket team as he named the four teams he thinks will qualify for the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2024.

Steyn picked India, South Africa, West Indies and Australia as his four semi-finalists. To the surprise of many, Steyn did not pick the England team, a side that not only won the previous edition of the T20 World Cup in 2022 but also defeated the West Indies in their most recent Super 8 encounter.


England beat West Indies in Super 8s of T20 World Cup 2024:

Opener Phil Salt smashed an unbeaten 87 off just 47 balls as defending champions England defeated the West Indies by eight wickets in the Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup.

Salt hit seven fours and five sixes in his whirlwind innings at the Darren Sammy National Stadium in St Lucia while Jonny Bairstow made an unbeaten 48 as England reached 181 for two in 17.3 overs after restricting the West Indies to 180 for four.

Player of the match Salt sealed the win by smashing 30 runs in the 16th over off West Indies bowler Romario Shepherd, with his power-hitting including three sixes and three fours.

The win marks a return to form for England, who struggled in the first round group stage and were at one stage on the brink of elimination.

Earlier, in their Group 2 match against two-time T20 champions West Indies, England's disciplined bowling performance restricted the latter to a relatively modest 180.
