Suryakumar Yadav's 53-run knock off 28 balls helped India post a challenging 181 for eight against Afghanistan in their first Super 8 match of the T20 World Cup here on Thursday.

Surya hit three sixes and five fours in his innings. Vice-captain Hardik Pandya scored 32 runs off 24 balls. Virat Kohli (24) and Rishabh Pant (20) also made useful contributions in the top order.

For Afghanistan, Rashid Khan (3/26) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (3/33) were the best bowlers, taking three wickets each.
