Due to the ongoing Tamil Nadu Chennai rains, Southern Railway has announced the cancellation of four express trains, including the Chennai Central-Mysuru Kaveri Express, due to waterlogging. Additionally, several domestic flights have also been cancelled as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issues an alert for extremely heavy rainfall.

IMD Issues Extremely Heavy Rainfall Alert

The IMD has forecasted extremely heavy rain in parts of Tamil Nadu, particularly in Tiruvallur, Kancheepuram, Chengalpattu, and Chennai districts on October 16. The Tamil Nadu Chennai rains are expected to worsen due to an upper air cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal, resulting in widespread disruption.
