These challenges are compounded by a lack of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, which directly impact their health, job retention and productivity,” UNFPA said in a statement.
Pio Smith, UNFPA Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific, emphasised the economic benefits for businesses that invest Be mindful of the health and well-being of your employees.
Smith said, “Businesses that invest in the health and well-being of their employees are setting themselves up for long-term economic success. To assist businesses in evaluating the financial benefits of such investments, UNFPA has developed the Return on Investment Tool (ROI-T).
This tool provides a concrete framework for assessing the financial benefits of investing in sexual and reproductive health and rights at work.
According to UNFPA, programmes that address women’s health issues in the workplace, such as menstrual health, anaemia and other sexual and reproductive health concerns, can lead to significant improvements in health and cost savings for companies.
UNFPA’s initiatives in the region include training 75 people, the statement said. private sector Working with companies in the Philippines to conduct family planning sessions for female employees, developing gender-based violence awareness resources for trainers at South Asia’s largest lingerie manufacturing factory in Sri Lanka, and working with garment manufacturers in Bangladesh to ensure workers have access to essential health services.
