Ampox belongs to the same family of viruses as smallpox, but usually causes mild symptoms such as fever, chills and body aches. It’s mostly spread through close skin-to-skin contact, including sexual contact. People with more severe cases may develop lesions on the face, arms, chest and genitals. (AP) GRS GRS
