The sporty 125cc segment in India is heating up in the recent past. Hero MotoCorp launched Xtreme 125R, Bajaj has Pulsar N125 and the evergreen Pulsar NS125 and more recently, we saw Honda get into this segment with CB125 Hornet. TVS Motor, on the other hand, does not seem to be bringing a new Apache in the 125cc segment, but updating its Raider 125 instead.
In that regard, we can see 2025 TVS Raider 125 with a bunch of new features and equipment along with a host of aesthetic changes including new colourways and graphics. Units have started to reach showrooms ahead of an official launch. Let’s take a closer look.
2025 TVS Raider 125
Within the sporty 125cc motorcycle segment, different brands have different approaches to set themselves apart. Honda’s approach is to offer a premium aesthetic with USD telescopic front forks, a TFT screen, Type-C port and more. Hero MotoCorp’s approach with soon-to-launch 2025 Xtreme 125R is to offer cruise control, new colour LCD cluster and more.
TVS already offered a TFT screen (colour LCD with lower variants) with Raider 125. Instead of USD forks or cruise control, TVS is taking a different route with 2025 Raider 125. The company is improving the mechanicals of Raider 125 by offering it rear disc brake setup along with single-channel Super Moto ABS.
With this update, TVS Raider 125 becomes the only 125cc premium commuter motorcycle to offer a rear disc brake. These are fancier petal discs, which offer more surface area to dissipate heat. Both the front and rear brake callipers get a red paint, for visual pop. There’s also a protective cover on rear brake calliper.
Tyres have gotten an upgrade too as both front and rear tyre have gotten fatter than before. Front tyre is now 90-section width and rear tyre is now 110-section width. It has to be noted that the unit seen in Dev Mtr’s video is not the top-spec variant with TFT screen. Instead, it comes with a colour LCD cluster with Bluetooth and SmartXonnect app support, among other features.
New Colourways
TVS Raider 125 is known for its attractive colourways including the Supersquad Editions in collaboration with Marvel. With the new 2025 TVS Raider 125, we can expect a host of new colourways. The one seen in this video gets a Red and White dual-tone colourway with painted front wheel.
LED headlights, LED tail lights and halogen turn indicators continue as they were. Also the same is its 124.8cc single-cylinder 3V air-cooled engine with a peak power of 11.2 bhp and peak torque of 11.2 Nm, mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
