SFJ’s Gurpatwant Singh Pannun threatens to Balkanise India in reaction to Canada’s Deputy Foreign Minister David Morrison’s remarks supporting India’s territorial integrity.
Pannun Threatens to Balkanise India in Reaction to Canada’s Stand
Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, the general counsel of the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), has once again made inflammatory threats against India’s sovereignty. In a video released recently, Pannun threatened to ‘Balkanise India,’ extending the SFJ’s call for independence beyond Punjab and into other states. His declaration comes in response to comments made by Canada’s Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, David Morrison.
SFJ’s Pannun Reacts to Canada Minister’s Statement on India
During a public hearing of the Canadian foreign interference commission in Ottawa, Morrison had affirmed Canada’s position, stating, “Canada’s policy is very clear, that India’s territorial integrity must be respected. There’s one India, and that’s been made very clear.” In reaction, Pannun’s video mentioned the SFJ’s mission to destabilize India by 2047, with the slogan “Mission of SFJ 2024: ONE India, To 2047: NONE India.”
Designated a terrorist by India, Pannun’s rhetoric continues to strain relations between India and Canada, especially with SFJ being at the forefront of pro-Khalistan movements abroad. This latest escalation underscores the ongoing tensions, with Pannun threatening to stir separatist movements in multiple Indian states.
