Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)CBIThe police who made the arrests argued in court that there was a network of people involved in the abuse, and stressed the need for further investigations to unravel the full extent of the nexus.
In court proceedings, the CBI sought 10 days’ custody for the accused, saying additional crimes might emerge during the investigation.
However, the judge decided to send the four men to eight days of custody. The court has scheduled the next hearing for September 10, when the findings of the ongoing investigation may be presented. The CBI believes that more people may be involved as the investigation continues.
