Ed Sheeran’s Sapphire in Arijit’s AI Voice Goes Viral: Is It Legal?

Ed Sheeren's Sapphire

After teasing the song for some time, Ed Sheeran finally released the music video for Sapphire. The three-minute video, which was shot in a guerrilla fashion while he was in India, features footage of him meeting fans and riding autorickshaws.

The fact that Arijit Singh appears in both the song and the music video has thrilled Indian fans. In his hometown of Jiaganj, a small town in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, the Bollywood singer is spotted riding Ed on his scooter.

Arijit was referred to by Ed Sheeran as “the song’s final jigsaw piece.” He hinted at the impending release of a complete Punjabi version featuring Arijit.

A rendition of the song was made available on YouTube in the interim. This version of Sapphire is sung entirely by Arijit Singh and appears to have been created using artificial intelligence.

Reactions on Social Media

Reactions from social media users were not uniform.

“I just realized how good Ed Sheeran is, they almost sound identical,” posted one user.

Another user wrote, “Both versions are best but I like this one most …I’m eagerly waiting for this version

“Arjit the voice of India…” came from a fan whilst another wrote, “No one can beat Arijit Singh…”
