Hemant took the oath as Jharkhand’s 14th chief minister in Ranchi. This marks his fourth term as the leader of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM). The oath was administered by Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar.

The JMM-led INDIA bloc secured 56 of 81 assembly seats, while BJP-led NDA managed 24 seats. Soren took the oath alone, with cabinet expansion planned after the vote of confidence.
