India’s Stance on Illegal Indian Nationals in the US

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar stated that India is open to the legitimate return of its citizens residing illegally abroad, including in the US, if confirmed as Indian nationals.

Consistent and Principled Approach

EAM Jaishankar reiterated India’s consistent and principled position on illegal migration and conveyed this clearly to US Secretary of State Marco Rubio during his recent visit.

While opposing illegal migration, Jaishankar emphasized the importance of promoting legal mobility and creating global opportunities for Indian skills and talent.
