Aggressive batsman Harmanpreet Kaur will lead the 15-member Indian squad announced on Tuesday for the Women’s T20 World Cup to be held in the United Arab Emirates from October 3.
Top-order batter Yastika Bhatia and spin allrounder Shreyanka Patil have also been included in the squad on fitness grounds.
Star batsman Smriti Mandhana has been made the vice-captain in place of Harmanpreet.
The ICC tournament was moved to the United Arab Emirates following unrest caused by student protests in the South Asian country of Bangladesh.
Placed in Group A along with Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, India will be aiming to win their maiden T20 World Cup trophy.
