A special screening of the docuseries was organised at the Excel Entertainment office in Khar, Mumbai on Sunday.
The screening featured the first look of Zoya Akhtar’s upcoming documentary series, which highlights the influential partnership of writers Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.
Speaking to ANI, Zoya praised the duo’s pioneering work. “It all started with me because I have seen all their films,” she said.
She explained her fascination with his writing process and her decision to document his legacy for future generations.
Zoya noted Salim-Javed’s significant influence on Indian cinema, particularly highlighting their role in shaping the angry young man character that became iconic in the 1970s.
He said, “It was not just that he created the character of the angry young man, but it was the combination of his writing and actors like Mr Bachchan that created something explosive.”
The trailer of Angry Young Man features prominent personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Shabana Azmi, Farhan Akhtar, Karan Johar and Jaya Bachchan, highlighting the remarkable contributions of Salim Khan and Javed Akhtar.
Produced by Salman Khan Films, Excel Media and Entertainment and Tiger Baby, and executive produced by Salman Khan along with other notables from the industry, the series is set to premiere on Prime Video India on August 20.
Directed by Namrata Rao, the documentary series promises to take an in-depth look at the impact the legendary creative duo had on the film industry.
