390 Enduro R is a properly capable machine that can suggest a spec sheet.

Let’s start in the name of this bike. While it is called 390 Enduro R, KTM lists this bike under the double sports section on its website, not the real enduro category. And this is correct because this motorcycle does not have a dedicated enduro chassis or engine such as you will find on Wild 350 or 450 EXC-F motorcycles. Instead, it is based on 390 adventure, which itself uses the derivation of the trailis frame from 390 dukes, as well as a 399cc engine. The result is a 177 kg of curb weight that is around 390 adventure work and is about 60–70 kg of heavier compared to competition-kalpna enduro from KTM. They are facts; Now give them some perspectives.

The 390 Enduro R is derived from 390 adventure and is more than a dualSport compared to a true enduro.

The big advantage here is that KTM is trying to offer an acceptable package at an affordable price. If you want a true enduro weapon, KTM India now sells powerful 350 EXC-F six days, but it will spend you more than four times what the cost of this bike is. On the other hand, the price of this motorcycle is approximately a quarter, and this number comes with plates. So, let’s not focus on what it is and focus on what it is.

KTM 390 Enduro R Changes for India

India-spec bike has a lower suspension journey than international models

390 Enduro R 390 belongs to adventure, with the same engine and chassis. The main visual difference is that it comes with a very slimmer bodywork and is recalling large adwed-style headlamps and wind protection. From a mechanical point of view, it gets a large 18-inch rear wheel and the chunky runs on the 50/50 Mitas E-07 tire. Unlike 390 adventure, these tires have internal tubes.

50/50 Mitas E-07 tires are new here and run inner tubes.

The ride position is also a slightly different thanks to a new handle that has a long riser and can be accommodated in three positions on the steering triple clamp. Standing and seating ergos feel more off-road than 390 ADVs, although too long riders still want an even more high handler raiser. The 46HP/39Nm engine is in a similar tune position as 390 adventure, but the rear spracket has two teeth large for the large diameter of the rear wheel – KTM tells us that the overall gearing is similar to the adventure.

India-SPEC 390 Enduro R 390 comes with the same suspension as adventure.

The International-Spake 390 Enduro R 230 mm comes with a suspension journey. However, in the launch event, Bajaj stated that the bike for India would get a low suspension journey similar to a domestic 390 adventure work, resulting in a height of 860 mm seat instead of 890 mm. To say that it will put the mood lightly because the India-Spec 390 adventure suspension, while adjustable, is very soft for the bike, which is considered a bike.

KTM 390 Enduro R Ride & Handling

Despite suspension change, the bike is well behaved and capable off-road

Thankfully, this is one of the cases where the motorcycle tells a better story than its imagination sheet. In just a few minutes in the trail ride, I could feel that this suspension was behaving better than 390 adventure work, without a bottom tendency at a medium -sized jump. Certainly, after the ride, I confirmed with engineers that Enduro has modified more spring preloads with dumping settings compared to 390 adventure.

The suspension only jumps at a high speed.

There were a lot of rocks to jump into the footpath on the footpath we rode and there used to be a lot of steep drops, where Mitas tires proved to be very good, both in terms of catch and rider response. The areas were quite diverse, and included a stretch of loose rocks along with quite deep water cross, where chassis and steering had the opportunity to demonstrate good stability. Throughout the time, Enduro felt much lighter and more compact than 390 ADVs, which I rode a few days ago, even if the bike is actually only 5 kg lighter. A part of it is certainly below the fact that Enduro is slimmer and low-tops with its small 9-liter fuel tank, but in front of you is also a psychological factor of not having all the big and long bodywork.

Enduro’s front brake is small, due to its off-road bias.

Through most trail rides, with my weight (about 80 kg in full gear), I was happy to leave the suspension in its middle settings, although some of my colleagues wanted to strengthen the front. It was only on a particularly rapid, rated section, where we were tampering with triple-papers in the 3 and 4th gear that I felt the need to add some compression as the bike did down on a couple of big hits.

KTM 390 Enduro R Out-Road Capacity

It is a properly enabled machine and only supporting level riders want to focus something more

After a well -pleasant trail ride, we moved on two separate miniature tracks that were more MX in nature, with bank corners and some big jumps. This was where Enduro went more often in the range of his suspension journey, especially when he jumped. But even when the bike fell down, it still handled the situation well and encouraged the rider to walk. However, it was a clear indication that 390 Enduro is not for the serious competition-style ride and more about going out and having fun with his friends on the trails. He said, it is only very experienced and/or supporters who are going to solve through the boundaries of this bike, and for a person like you, there is a lot of place to improve personal skills before asking for more than a motorcycle.

The slim seat will help small riders to place their feet on the ground.

There is a very well decided electronics package to go with enduro -friendly nature. Power delivery is not very aggressive, but it is exciting enough in off-road mode, which also neutralizes the rear ABS. The unique to this motorcycle is a separate button that you feel the requirement closes the front ABS. I also really enjoyed the traction control in off-road mode, which allowed a lot of slips to the side and never felt infiltration, even on the upper climb up.

New switchgear on enduro, with a dedicated ABS inaction button.

Close traction control is actually more designed for me to manage, because with the peak nature of this road-oriented engine, it was easy to spin more tires on some relaxed, gravel surfaces. On that note, this 399cc liquid-cooled single does not have the same soulful lower end, which you will expect from a purpose-manufactured off-road bike, and I stopped the clutch out of a standstall and stopped it for some time-something that is slipping the raves that appreciates this engine.

KTM 390 Enduro R Features

Feature-Rich Machine has a TFT display, riding mode, switchable ABS and TC

One of the good aspects of Enduro’s road-bike roots is that it usually has more features than you can find such a bike. This includes a small but well-designed 4.2-inch TFT display that is easily controlled by a joystick on the left switch cube. In addition to traction control and ABS, you get two riding mode, Bluetooth connectivity and navigation help. However, there is an important feature that you remember, and it is a fuel gauge, meaning that you have to rely on a low-fuel warning lamp.

The small 4.2-inch TFT display packs good information, but a fuel recalls on gauge.

This launch event was purely about off-road riding, and we still need to see what is on-road comfort. On the subject, the flat seat is compared to the normal slim and hard bench that you find on an appropriate enduro bike. For now, I doubt that rest should be appropriately manageable on a daily traffic. However, the seat is still quite thin and firm, as it should be on such a bike.

KTM 390 Enduro R Price and Decision

This is a properly enabled machine, despite what the imagination sheet can suggest

3.37 lakhs. Kawasaki klx230On the one hand, it is easily one of the most fun bikes in 2025, and I can assure you that it is not disappointed that it appears on paper. On the other hand, there is no doubt that Bajaj has given water to this KTM for India, although I can understand their intentions to make it more accessible to wider people.

Enduro’s nearest rival is less powerful, but also a light Kawasaki KLX230.

What would be ideal if R is removed from the name of this version and Bajaj also sells international imagination bikes for those who want full experience. At least, the company should provide long travel suspension at a reasonable price. Nevertheless, I would conclude with the acceptance that I enjoyed 390 Enduro R after listening to the product briefing, as much as I expected, and I would like to spend a lot of time with it.
