NDTV Exclusive: Ada Sharma’s big comment

New Delhi:

Adah SharmaAn outsider who made his Bollywood debut with the 2008 film 1920Recently, Adah shared her perspective on the widespread issue of nepotism in the film industry. In an exclusive interview with NDTV’s Hardik Gupta, Adah spoke about the impact of nepotism on career opportunities. She reflected on the sentiments often expressed by industry insiders who support nepotism, saying, “I have seen big people in the industry say that nepotism is great and I agree with them. Nepotism is great and it is a big rock wall too, but sometimes a non-nepotistic person finds a small crack and gets through it. That’s how The Kerala Story came about and it became the highest-grossing female-led film of all time.”

Discussing his acting journey from 2008 till now, the laughter got stuck The star described it as a “rollercoaster”. She said, “It feels like I’ve been on a rollercoaster since my debut. At first the ups and downs made me nervous, but now I’m so used to the ups and downs that I feel like I’m walking on stairs.”

When asked about his decision to act in controversial films, Story of Kerala And BastarShe told, “When I was doing Kerala Story, I didn’t know it was controversial. It was a film about ISIS victims, a film about terrorism. It was only after the film released that I realised that if someone speaks the truth on social issues, they will be called controversial. Bastar was dedicated to those who found Kerala Story controversial. The preparation for Kerala Story was different from Bastar. In one, I am a college girl and in the other, I am fighting a war as a soldier. Getting into the skin of the character is what I enjoy doing. It is difficult to get out of a character and get ready for life again, but I got straight into my next project, Sunflower Season 2, which was fiction where I played a bar dancer and I also had a commando which had action. So, I had enough to distract my mind.”

On the work front, Adah Sharma will see it next time Chameleon Games And Rapchik RitaHe starred in several projects including Selfie, Kerala story, Bastar: Naxalite story, Hansi toh Fante, Phir, The Holiday, Meet Cute And husband wife and mess Among others.
