New Tata Sierra Spotted On Truck

The much-awaited Tata Sierra has been spotted once again — this time fully covered, being transported on a flatbed truck. The SUV, finished in a bright yellow shade, was seen somewhere in North India, likely en route for a TVC shoot, as its official launch is expected to take place next month.

These latest images, shared by True Car Advice, reveal fresh details about the production-ready Sierra. Despite being partially covered, we can see the Sierra badging near the front wheel arch, a visible exhaust pipe, and a new alloy wheel design — different from the one showcased at the Bharat Mobility Expo earlier this year.

Tata Sierra Nears Launch

With these sightings increasing in frequency, it’s clear that Tata Motors is in the final stages of testing and production ramp-up. The Sierra has already been showcased to dealers and is expected to debut in November 2025.

The upcoming model carries forward the iconic silhouette of the original Sierra, featuring a boxy stance, muscular proportions, and the signature alpine windows at the rear. Built on Tata’s Gen 2 architecture, the new Sierra moves to a 5-door monocoque SUV layout, making it more practical while retaining its rugged character.

Design and Interiors

The SUV will share Tata’s latest design language seen on the Harrier and Safari facelifts, featuring a sleek LED light bar up front, strong shoulder lines, flush door handles, and squared-off wheel arches with heavy cladding.

Inside, the Sierra is expected to feature a triple-screen layout, a four-spoke illuminated steering wheel, ventilated seats, panoramic sunroof, ambient lighting, and wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. Tata will also pack in Level-2 ADAS, 6 airbags, 360° camera, and electronic stability control, continuing its streak of 5-star safety focus under Bharat NCAP.

Petrol, Diesel, and EV Options

Recent spy shots have already confirmed a petrol-powered variant, likely using Tata’s new 1.5L turbo-petrol engine producing around 170 PS and 280 Nm. It will be paired with manual and automatic transmissions.

There will also be diesel variants, powered by the 2.0L Kryotec engine from the Harrier, offering 170 PS and 350 Nm. The top-spec variants could feature AWD for improved off-road ability. An electric version of the Sierra is also on the cards, expected to use the Harrier EV’s powertrain, further strengthening Tata’s EV portfolio.

Launch Timeline and Expectations

With final media and marketing activities already in motion, the Tata Sierra’s launch is expected in November 2025. Once launched, it will take on rivals like Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Victors, Toyota Hyryder, etc. The Sierra’s combination of nostalgia, modern design, and multiple powertrain choices positions it as one of Tata’s most ambitious and awaited products yet.
