National Remote Sensing Centre’s (NRSC) mobile vehicle ‘Space on Wheels’ to showcase aspects of India’s space missions was the highlight of the two-day National Space Day celebrations held at the International Advanced Research Centre for Powder Metallurgy and New Materials (ARCI), an autonomous R&D Centre of the Department of Science and Technology, which concluded in Hyderabad on Thursday (August 22, 2024).

Srinivas, senior scientist, NRSC, coordinated the mobile exhibition, which was enthusiastically welcomed by students, staff and young researchers. The event also featured a lecture on “Touching the Moon, Touching Life: The Indian Space Saga” by YVN Krishnamurthy, former director, NRSC and now professor at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram, on the importance of remote sensing and geospatial technologies in resource management. ARCI director R Vijay, associate directors PK Jain and DS Rao also attended the event, the press release said.
