Renowned Malayalam actor TP Madhavan passed away on October 9 at the age of 88 in Kollam, Kerala. He was undergoing treatment for stomach-related ailments at a private hospital. His funeral will be held at Shanthi Kavadam in Thiruvananthapuram on October 10.
A Legacy of Over 600 Films
Madhavan began his acting career at the age of 40 with the 1975 Malayalam film Raagam. Over the next four decades, he appeared in more than 600 films, making a lasting impact with roles in movies like Nadodikkattu, Oru CBI Diary Kuruppu, Sandesham, and Aaram Thampuran. Before his acting career, he worked for an English newspaper and ran an advertising agency. He also served as the first general secretary of the Association for Malayalam Movie Artistes (A.M.M.A).
Fond Memories and Tributes
Actor Jayaram, a close friend, shared his fond memories of Madhavan, recalling their time spent together on film sets. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan also expressed his condolences, honoring Madhavan’s contributions to the Malayalam film industry.Madhavan had been residing at Gandhi Bhavan, an old age home, in Pathanapuram and was suffering from amnesia in recent years.
