Stree 2 is doing great at the box office. The film which released on August 15 has already crossed the Rs 400 crore mark and is now inching closer to the 500 crore mark. Aparshakti Khurana who plays Bittu in the franchise spoke to NDTV about Stree 2 and the immense love his character is receiving from the audience. Speaking to NDTV’s Abira Dhar, the Jubilee actor said, “When we were shooting, we knew we were doing something really good, special and joyous. But we didn’t know the film would hit the 400 crore mark in just a week or that we would get so much love from people. It’s a very joyous atmosphere. I can actually pinch myself to believe that we have reached here with the film. We knew we would do good numbers but these are phenomenal numbers.”

Meanwhile, the horror comedy grossed ₹17 crore at the ticket window on its 12th day, as reported by Saccanilk. With this, the total box office collection of Stree 2 has gone up to ₹401.55 crore. It is now inching towards the ₹450 crore club. The report states that on its second Monday (August 26), the film witnessed “29.02 per cent Hindi occupancy” in theatres. Stree 2 is a sequel to the 2018 Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao-starrer Stree. The film also stars Aparshakti Khurana, Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi and Vijay Raaz in lead roles.

Bollywood trade analyst and film critic Taran Adarsh shared a report on X (formerly Twitter) about Stree 2. He mentioned that the Janmashtami festivities are “expected to give a further boost” to the film’s prospects. “Blockbuster Sunday – ‘Stree 2’ joins the ₹400 crore club… Stree 2 rocks on its (second) Sunday. Cinemas across India, from multiplexes to single screens, witnessed a spectacular performance, taking the total collections past ₹400 crore. Urban centres are doing exceptionally well, but it’s the mass collections that are really making its mark. In fact, tier-2 and tier-3 markets are witnessing this level of frenzy after a long time. The (second) Monday (Janmashtami) holiday is expected to give a further boost to its prospects,” he wrote.

Stree 2 released on Independence Day (15 August). The film clashed with John Abraham’s Veda and Akshay Kumar’s Khel Khel Mein at the box office.
