The Bengaluru police have registered an FIR under Section 103 (1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita following the discovery of 29-year-old Mahalakshmi’s body, which had been cut into over 20 pieces and stored inside a refrigerator in her rented apartment. Mahalakshmi, a team leader at Fashion Factory in Malleshwaram, lived alone on the first floor of a G+3 building.
Mother Recounts Final Conversation
Mahalakshmi’s mother, Meena Rana, 58, shared that her daughter had called on September 2, saying she planned to visit her husband soon. This was their last communication before the tragic Bengaluru woman murder was uncovered.
Neighbors Report Foul Smell
Neighbors reported a foul smell emanating from Mahalakshmi’s apartment, leading to the grim discovery. Meena Rana and her husband Charan Singh, originally from Tikapur, Nepal, have lived in Bengaluru for 35 years. The couple has three other children: Lakshmi, Ukkum Singh, and Naresh.
