Leptospirosis can impact vital organs such as the kidneys and lungs and may lead to life-threatening complications if not treated promptly. The Chief Minister was admitted to Fortis Hospital in Mohali late Wednesday night for a routine health checkup after showing symptoms of a tropical fever.
Doctors Confirm Bhagwant Mann’s Condition is Stable
Doctors at the Fortis Hospital, Mohali, confirmed that Bhagwant Mann’s vitals are stable, and he is responding positively to the treatment. Dr. RK Jaswal, Director and Head of Cardiology, stated, “The Chief Minister has shown significant improvement in his clinical parameters. He has responded well to the treatment, and all his vitals are completely stable.”
Diagnosis and Treatment of Leptospirosis
The diagnosis was confirmed after Mann’s blood tests returned positive for Leptospirosis. Dr. Jaswal mentioned, “As suspected at the time of admission for a tropical fever, blood tests have confirmed Leptospirosis. The Chief Minister has already been put on appropriate antibiotics, and his clinical features and pathological tests have shown satisfactory improvement.” Leptospirosis, though rare, can cause severe health issues if not treated early.
