Advanced Voice Mode: A New Era of Conversational AI
OpenAI has introduced ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, a much-anticipated feature designed to create more natural and conversational interactions. Powered by GPT-4, the mode allows ChatGPT to pick up on non-verbal cues and respond with emotional nuance, making the interaction feel more human.
New Voices in Advanced Voice Mode
Along with ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, users will also have access to five new voices: Arbor, Maple, Sol, Spruce, and Vale. These voices bring the total number of available voices to nine. However, the controversial Sky voice, which had a striking resemblance to Scarlett Johansson, remains unavailable.
Who Can Access Advanced Voice Mode?
Initially, ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode will be available to ChatGPT Plus and Teams subscribers. Users in the Enterprise and Edu versions can expect access next week. The new feature replaces the animated black dots seen in previous versions with a blue animated sphere.
How to Use Advanced Voice Mode
To access ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, follow these steps:
Open the ChatGPT app on your device.
Tap the “voice” icon located in the bottom right corner of the screen.
A new window with a blue orb will appear, signifying that voice mode is active.
Note: Users are subject to daily limits when using ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode, with a notification appearing when there are only 15 minutes left of voice usage for the day.
